Faith Over Fear: Trusting In His Promises

In my sanctified life, God has shown himself to me in ways I never thought possible. One specific time about two years ago I started dealing with something that caused me to have a lot of doubt. It came out of nowhere, and I didn’t know why I was dealing with it. During the time of waiting for an answer to my prayers, God would give me songs and verses to give me a little more faith and a little more courage. 

“In this age of confusion, disillusion ev'rywhere,
It's hard to find true peace there's of mind or someone who really cares,
I have put my trust in Jesus, He's like no other man I know,
His Word is true, He's gonna see me through, I believe Jesus.”

“And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” (2 Corinthians‬ ‭12‬:‭9 KJV)

Over time, this situation continued to weigh heavy on my heart, and at Greensboro Feastmeeting last year I went to the altar to pray for assurance that I was sanctified. I got that assurance as soon as I knelt at the altar, and I just felt a peace in my heart. I still didn’t understand the situation I was dealing with, but God gave me a clear answer about two days after feastmeeting. The whole time I was battling with this burden, God was working with another sister in Christ who dealt with the same thing I was dealing with. When that was shared, I knew that this was the answer to my prayers. I never imagined that it would have worked out in the way that it did, but God knew the whole time. He was preparing me during that time and built my faith up through the struggles. If I could emphasize anything, it would be that God is a righteous God, and He knows exactly how to get someone through a situation. He has promised to never leave us or forsake us if we continue to cling to him and stay in his will. 

God continues to give me songs and comfort through the scriptures whenever I'm in my head about something. He is the answer to everything, and he has taught me to rest in his promises and presence over my own feelings. If you do not know him today, the best decision you will ever make is to serve him with all your heart. He will take you through.
